MainBooks Retailer Comparison Amazon

Web Site: www.amazon.com

Amazon is the winner in the Book Category of this first survey having pioneered the online retail concept and still at the forefront of innovation and improvement.

Amazon offers a consistent clean design throughout their site with a number of rows of tab buttons along the top of the screen. Books are well categorised and there are numerous search options.

Perhaps Amazon's greatest feature is it's book reviews. Not only do they have reviews from newspapers and magazines, they also have a great facility for you to write your own review and rate the book. Given how popular this site is there are heaps of these which makes choosing books, particularly good technical ones, a much easier task. Finally links are offered to what other people bought and the author's other titles.

Amazon also has single click shopping throughout it's site, which enables return visitors to easily purchase goods. Without a doubt Amazon's site is one of the most well-though out and constructed on the Internet today.

Pricing is a standard 30% discount on books, with some specials. Postage rates aren't as cheap as CDs but this reflects the greater bulk and weight of books.
