Buying books online is fast becoming common place for Australians. While postage and price differences aren't as for music CDs and DVDs the main reason Australian's are buying overses is availability. Many books are released earlier in the US than in Australia, and many never released in Australia. However the opposite can also be true, particularily for Australian authors.
The cuts from street price in the US stores is generally better, inlcuding 50% off all NY Times BestSeller Lists, although the Australian stores do occassionally have some good specials.
Amazon is the winner of the first quarter 2000 Book Retailer Scorecard providing an extensive range of books and the best designed site and options. Angus & Robertson BookWorld also gained an AU Highly Commended Award. Listed below are some individual book price comparisons.
